Responsibilities: • Conducting security screenings of passengers, baggage, and cargo on transportation systems. • Ensuring the freedom of movement for people and commerce. • Identifying dangerous objects in baggage or on passengers, and preventing those objects from being transported. • Operating various screening equipment and technology to identify dangerous objects in baggage, cargo and on passengers. • Maintaining focus and awareness while working in a stressful environment which includes noise from alarms, machinery, and people, crowd distractions, time pressure, and disruptive and angry passengers. • Making effective decisions in both crisis and routine situations. • Engaging in continuous development of critical thinking skills, necessary to mitigate actual and potential security threats. Requirements: • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. National and at least 18 years of age. • Must have a high school diploma, General Educational Development (GED), High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), or Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC). • Pass a drug screening, medical evaluation, and background investigation. • Subject to post-employment random drug and/or alcohol testing. • Must be proficient in the English language (i.e., able to read, write, speak, and comprehend). Preferred Skills: • Previous experience in a security-related role. • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. • Strong attention to detail. • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain composure during stressful situations. • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions quickly. • Ability to work well in a team and independently. • Strong customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with the public.',
